I deliberately picked one of the Fist Group liveries *because* they were so awful - in particular, to see how many shades of blue and purple people could come up with. The interior decor is *worse*, partly because you can't avoid looking at it for hours on end.
As for the Class 185... they're hideously overpowered, to the point of actually being overweight. Because of this, they have to obey lower speed limits in many places than Sprinter-derived types and the 170, which cancels out the better acceleration they get from the big engines. And then there aren't enough of them, resulting in overcrowding.

I'm with you on that Chromatix and the conductors hate the overcrowding which causes lots of EW/SC's. Not fun to deal with if you have to leave between 5 to 30 odd passengers at each station because your train is so full and has been since the first stop...Quoth Chromatix View PostI deliberately picked one of the Fist Group liveries *because* they were so awful - in particular, to see how many shades of blue and purple people could come up with. Yes. It seems so. Fascinating though.Quoth Gravekeeper View PostI seem to have sparked an entirely different and rather unusual topic of conversation... >.>

Yes indeed...... I thought I was just throwing in an offhand comment made by a friend of mine, who was weary to the soles of his feet of looking at the paint colour charts that his wife was waving under his nose......only for the mighty GK to take it and elevate it to undreamt-of heights.Quoth Gravekeeper View PostI seem to have sparked an entirely different and rather unusual topic of conversation... >.>

Okay, while that is a bit much, seriously.....what beats NUKE?!?!?!?Quoth El Pollo Guerrera View PostHow about RPS25?
Now that is just too far. Seriously, while I can see people being able to get the hang of RPS25, 1,010 variations is ridiculous. Who could even follow it? Understand it? Know what to throw? Know what beats what? Hell, I don't know if my hand can MAKE that many different shapes!Quoth El Pollo Guerrera View PostThere's also an online version of Rock-Paper-Scissors with 1010 variations...
Different way of thinking grammatically, or in many different ways?Quoth C. Cecil Ivanish View PostI realised that I have a different way of thinking when I am focusing in Italian, in English or in Spanish.
If the latter, that IS fascinating, and something that is hard to picture for someone like me, who can only speak fluently American English, British English, and Redneck. (I speak a smattering of Spanish, but not nearly enough to be able to think in it.)
Oh, I have days like that too. Days where I don't leave the apartment, and only leave the bedroom to raid the fridge or hit the bathroom. Days spent in my pj's (or what passes for pj's in Jester World), laying in bed, watching tv for hours, and/or playing on the computer (also in my bedroom).Quoth Panacea View PostActually, I get you. I'm the same way; I have days when I just don't want to go outside of the house. It is actually a relief to just sack out on a couch and watch TV all day.
Single days, sure. Multiple days, I could see. Multiple weeks? A totally foreign concept to me, just as the idea of enjoying the taste of olives is a totally foreign concept to me.
As happens in most, if not all, of your threads.Quoth Gravekeeper View PostI seem to have sparked an entirely different and rather unusual topic of conversation... >.>

Actually, you get a bit of it, even when you're just using different dialects of the same language.Quoth Jester View PostIf the latter, that IS fascinating, and something that is hard to picture for someone like me, who can only speak fluently American English, British English, and Redneck. Although I have a habit of thinking in multiple languages at once, which can get confusing if I happen to say what I'm thinking.
