People drive me nuts wanting shipping quotes with nearly no information. I learned pretty quickly that "I won't hold you to it..." was almost always a lie. I don't do them unless I have absolutely no choice, and even then they're told it's no more than a rough estimate and that reality may be wildly different.

Tracking. Ugh tracking. We get SO many calls looking for things coming to people locally or people who shipped someplace else entirely, we pretty much ask if they shipped out at our location. If they didn't, we send them back to either their shipper or the carrier's 800 number unless NOTHING else is going on. We get a lot of grumpy old people looking for medication coming to them. You only need to experience that kind of *blargh zomg my pills* wrath once to sour you on helping everyone.

Even better is the ones who do the drop offs... IE some store is giving them a return shipping label to ship back their broken phone, xbox, ipod, etc... and it's being shipped under that company's account.

Which means... Yes boys and girls... That we don't have a general record of it because it's not our fucking problem.

But that doesn't stop them from coming in a week, a month, A YEAR from when they shipped something and demanding to know where it is and why. And they don't take "It's not our problem." as an answer... Cuz. "Well you're SHIPPING COMPANY..."

No we're not... We're copy/print/graphic design place that happens to do some shipping under the guise of the SHIPPING COMPANY'S name. We can receive parcels for you. We can ship parcels for you under our account number. BUT we have NO ACCESS to any of the info ESPECIALLY if you threw out the tracking number we gave you.

So please for the love of all that is holy and good... If we take the time out of what We're doing to stop and write down your tracking number because you were too retarded to do so before you came into the store. DON'T THROW IT OUT and for the love of god don't throw out the nice little card I specifically made for idiots like you that explains how to look up your parcel's shipping number... Cuz guess what... because we're NOT SHIPPING COMPANY we have to do exactly what's on that little card just like you because guess what?! WE'RE NOT SHIPPING COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.
