I'm so sorry you had to deal with all of this over a crazed loon who didn't want to pay an entrance fee!
But, it seems that a civil suit might be counter-productive in getting your life together, so keep on keeping on and get some help for the alcohol thing.

I'd ask my sup if I could ban her because of her behavior and the court case. Get a pic of her and post it with a "No Admittance."

Somehow that would not surprise me one bit.Quoth Daemonmonkey View PostI wonder if this old hag bitch hasn't a record of these type of actions.

Oh my god... So what are you suppposed to do next time? Not do your job and let anybody in? How come there were no cameras? I am shocked beyond belief. I am so sorry you had to go through that. I can't even imagen what I would do.
Oh man, very bad bad bad karma is headed her way. What a spoiled old hag. Can you get a restraining order so that if she ever comes back again you can charge her? Just wow...

Thanx for the messages guys. Sadly there seems nothing i can do about this woman unless i fund a private case out of my own pocket.
Im still trying to pull everything back together with the other stuff, yes i had a hell of a 5 month period with stress, tension and so forth but i have to try leave that behind, it took me the best part of a month before i brought myself to make this post....so hopefully this counts as therapy.....

Late to the thread, but geez, what a major fuckup.
Dunno if anybody asked this already (too lazy/drunk to read the whole thread),but if the lady was hurt, did she see a Dr. that could confirm her injuries were consistent with being manhandled like she claims?

I'm so glad it came out in your favor. That stupid old bitch should have been charged with trespassing...not by you, by your bosses. She has to pay to get in; she didn't. And how much is the fee? No way was it worth her going that far.
I agree that booze is not your friend here. If you can get counseling, for you alone or together with your wife, it could be a good, safe way to vent and come to a point where you can put all this behind you.
Let us know how you're doing.

I agree that you don't need the additional stress right now. What you could do is see if there is a statute of limitations on bringing a civil action, and keep it in the back of your mind. If you get to a better place (with stress, jobs, the missus) within that time, you could always file an action then. Gather any court paperwork or at-time documentation you made, and put it in a safe place, just in case. Just because you're not ready right now doesn't mean you won't be down the road a bit.Quoth Marmalady View PostEven if the criminal justice system say you can't do anything about the old harpy, there would still be a possibility that you could bring a civil action against her.
However, although I know I originally spoke about suing, having read yours and others' comments on here since, I'm now more inclined to the view that it would do you more harm than it would do her. You really don't need any more stress now.

I wonder if this old hag bitch hasn't a record of these type of actions.
Could it be that part of those cases where an elderly woman is found dead by assault are in fact cases of old hags harassing one person too many ?

One of the saddest things about all that, that I can see... Is that whole mess could have been avoided (or at least mitigated a lot faster), if there were working cameras set up in that gate area you described, or at least a policy of keeping two people in the area so there is a witness.
I wouldn't be too hard on the cops though; it was a "She said/He said" situation, probably with a lot of subconscious prejudices coming into play (the OP's description of himself, combined with the 'must help the elderly' feelings people often feel); especially since the elderly person (she ain't a lady) had her story out first.
From what was described, it sounds like everyone acted appropriately, other than the malicious bitch who kicked it off the mess in the first place. Granted your employers should probably have been more supportive, but even with what they knew of the situation (He said/She said remember), even their hands were probably tied to some extent.
Good for you for sticking to your guns, getting lawyers who saw through the BS and stuck with you. Now, avoid going to the bottle, and talk to legal to see if there are any recourses you can take against her specifically. And try to put this behind you; it sounds like you have more important things (your son and family) to focus on, and not this nasty experience in the past.

Gads, what a total mess. I'm glad you were found innocent but I can't believe they dragged this flimsy mess into court, you'd think they'd have real criminals to deal with. And I'mn truly disturbed your empolyers didn't back you to the hilt.
May karma treat this old bitch to exactly what she deserves.
Hopefully things will start to get better for you and your family soon. Best wishes!
