Ah, that's far too short a time. If it had been half an hour, that might have been long enough for the idea of 'let's go back inside' to permeate their skulls...
I still don't understand how it was possible. When those doors open, they stay open for at least 8 seconds. How they never made it back in is a mystery.
If they were opening the door for her to get in why did they even go outside? Wouldn't it have been a much better idea to just hold the door open while she came in?
I find it entertaining this story was posted within a week of a report being published that states high schools and colleges, in general, are failing to teach students critical thinking skills.
