This reads like a cartoon. How do things like this happen in real life? That makes me a sad panda.

    It is a good shrubbery.

    I like the laurels particularly.

Why do I have a mental picture of half a dozen people standing outside in the rain chanting "Mooooooooooooooooooooooo?"

Just trying to think how they could have all locked themselves out just fried my brain . . .

When those doors open, they stay open for at least 8 seconds.
Ah, that's far too short a time. If it had been half an hour, that might have been long enough for the idea of 'let's go back inside' to permeate their skulls...

I have to ask... What class were they attending?
    It was a cookery class.

I still don't understand how it was possible. When those doors open, they stay open for at least 8 seconds. How they never made it back in is a mystery.

If they were opening the door for her to get in why did they even go outside? Wouldn't it have been a much better idea to just hold the door open while she came in?
    Some things are too easy!

I find it entertaining this story was posted within a week of a report being published that states high schools and colleges, in general, are failing to teach students critical thinking skills.
You can't teach a skill you don't possess.
