  • My, you're an idiot

    Another one from Facebook.

Last week we offered a 46-inch Toshiba TV, tv stand and blu-ray player for a shade under $700. If my store was any indication, the TVs on the ad sold out very quickly, because corporate sent down a memo indicating we should substitute a Sony 46-inch TV for the Toshiba one that was sold out and not going to be replenished.

It seems some guy in Nebraska went to one of our stores (a 60-mile trip) wanting to buy this deal, and they were sold out. The store wouldn't give him a raincheck. They offered him the Sony 46-inch TV instead, but apparently he was insulted by this, claiming that TV wasn't "anywhere close to the specs" of the TV in the ad. So he's never shopping with us again. With all the people claiming they'll never shop us again, how do we manage to stay in business?

A). Of course there were no rainchecks. It's called "clearing out last year's models."
B). Given the date of his posting, I bet he waited until the very last day of the sale to come out.
C). For the price of the whole package, I wouldn't be spec-whoring myself. I would love a 46-inch TV so long as it's a good brand.
    D). This guy fails. Hard.

    E) This guy didn't even call ahead before making his massive trek to see if there were any left available.

That's an awesome deal. I wouldn't be picky for that either.

By far my favorite part of the whole screed, which I forgot to mention because I was half asleep, was his final line: "You're not going to screw me over ever again!"

Wait, what? You didn't buy anything. You aren't out anything, other than the gas you chose to burn up to get to the store. We didn't screw you out of anything.

Well, because, you know, you sold HIS TV to someone else!

This. People that want uber TV's for like $32.87 make me want to stab someone. $700 for that whole package is amazing if all you're looking for it a large TV. I work at a TV repair and sales place, so I could rant about this for a while :P

LOL I hate hate hate when SCs pull out that "I'm never gonna shop here again" crap. Like I give a flying fortess. You're not the only one who shops here, if you were, then we'd really be out of business. Take it to somewhere who cares, like the CEO or owner; yeah, good luck with that! XD

I paid about $700 for my TV alone, and that was only a 42".

Well, we already have Customer Standard Time...I guess we have Customer Standard Distance, as well...where they can't drive 3 miles to another store that you know DOES have Item X in stock because it's "too faaaaaaaaaaaaar...", and yet their house is ten miles away from YOUR store...
