At one point while my father was working as a manager at a pizza place, some guys left a two cent tip for the waitress.

My father walked out to the parking lot, and handed the pennies back saying "Sorry sir, you forgot this"

One of the guys grinned and said "No, that's the tip."

My father raised an eyebrow, "No, A tip would be money."
omg, i wish i could have done this when i was a waitress. i work my ass off for somebody and they leave one or two pennies, like i was supposed to learn something from it. yeah, i learned something - "you're a f*cking cheapskate" - and that's being nice. i never do that to any waiters or waitresses. i've even taught my husband how to tip better. he wasn't even aware that waitstaff do not make the same wages and depend on tips. these guys that leave a two cent tip think they're being funny. i'm sorry, i'd have to kick someone's ass if they did that in my presence. Me kicking their ass - now that would be funny.

I kept hoping this would be one of those surprise stories where the douchebag customers actually leave a surprisingly good tip, but alas I was disappointed.

I agree with the tax refund theory. Seems to make sense for why two dressed down (and apparently redneck-ish) people could afford to eat at a nice place like that.

i'd think for an upscale restaurant, after the first abusive comment that they would want these two guttersnipes removed since they lack the decorum to act appropriately in public.
My sentiments exactly. After the 2nd F bomb (as well as the context it was used) they should have been kicked to the curb and told never to come back.

Would've been funny to see a potential mugger watch them flash their fat wad of cash around. Maybe that would've taught those two asshats a lesson in humility.
Now that would have been poetic justice.

          I guess I'm just shocked it wasn't a dine-n-dash.
Same here, with their sucky attitudes, I kept waiting to read that they left w/o paying.

Money buys lots of things. Unfortunately, it doesn't buy class.

Too bad the cheapskates can't be predicted so that you can inflate the price they pay to compensate for the lousy tips they leave. I agree with everyone who thought these classless buffoons should have been kicked to the curb.
