Unfortunately, no. The building is located near two main drags and a tiny one way street. We crossed the one way street to reach the library, and that's where we were having problems.

I asked my supervisor if there was a way to close off that road to thru traffic when we have a fire drill, but there isn't one (which I guess makes sense). And that route is unfortunately very poor; if we had been back in our classroom rather than the aerobics room, we would have cut through the playground instead, avoiding traffic altogether. From where we were that wasn't an option.
Well if they all ready have at least one cop, you think he could put his car across the road and stop traffic, especially on a one way street. They really should plan something like that for the safety of the children

My middle school did a bomb drill. My class sat in spitball distance of a brick wall. We had ACRES of sports fields stretching far, far away from that stupid joint.
My high school had an actual bomb threat not long after I started there.

Right when the tardy bell rang for 6th period class, our principal came onto the PA system and made an announcement that when the next bell rang for everyone to proceed directly to the bus parking area (which was in the back of the campus off a secondary road) and get on our assigned buses. There were to be no stopping at lockers, no stopping by the water fountains, etc. We were to go straight to the buses.

I didn't even bother getting my book bag empty . . . I just had everything in my lap waiting for the bell to ring while my French teacher was taking roll call while everyone in the class was whispering about those two words: bomb threat.

Not ten minutes later, the bell rang and I made a beeline out the door, cut through a small path between the building and another one to avoid the crowds and almost ran through the parking lot to find my bus.

Found out the next day that some moron did call the school and said a bomb would go off around 3 (dismissal time was then a few minutes after 3.) False, of course but the schools here do not take chances when it comes to children.

Something similar happened at my high school when I was in Grade 11. Someone called in a bomb threat shortly after second period started one day. The whole school was evacuated while people were sent in to search the school, but nothing was found and it was determined just to be some idiot's idea of a very sick joke.

Although, in our case, they didn't do the smart thing of sending everyone home. Instead, they treated it as a fire drill and kept everyone near the school grounds. Good thing there wasn't a bomb; imagine how many of us would have gotten hurt by all the shrapnel and large debris blowing everywhere if there had been and it had gone off.

They never did catch the who made the phone call.

Anyway, once things were determined to be safe (which was about halfway through the lunch period) we were let back into the school and told that third period was cancelled so that everyone could still get a full period to eat their lunch.

My school had a bomb scare shortly after 9/11. school was evacuated, fire department showed up with a little robot to diffuse the bomb, police cordoned off the street...

Someone had a metronome in their bag and left it in their homeroom.

In my area, I love the standard operating procedure for a bomb threat, IMMEDIATELY, evacuate the building and get the students consolidated into the stadium.... that they most undoubtedly have not had time to sweep for explosives. Well at least in the city school it was just bleachers and the concessions, but the school was on a hill ABOVE the stadium, So a bomb would most likely have sent debris into the air and down into the stadium.

Then school in the country had a big stadium with lots of rooms and crap attached to it and a storage garage. OR, depending on the time of year. empty farm fields, guess where I wanted to stand, NOT in the overbuilt stadium I much rather would stand in the middle of one of the fields.
Of course going with safety, I was not allowed to sit across from the library, the door had a window the size of a sheet of paper that could blow out and cut me.... No no, go down 100ft and sit closer to the WALL of windows/doors to my left, and a smaller hallway with more doors.

Honestly, the only evacuations or consolidation they did "safely" was a fire drill, probably because they don't happen much and if a real fire were to take place, I doubt anyone would be calm
