In our local news some three years back we had someone killed trying to heist an ATM.
Did the usual bit. Pickup truck, heavy chain and sheer stupidity.
He backed up to the ATM, wrapped the chain around it and floored the truck. He had 100 feet of chain so he had a goodly amount of time to wind up a good head of steam.
Chain snapped and the now loose end whipped through the back glass and clocked him. He was pronounced dead at the scene when they found the truck that morning in the woods across the street from the gas station he tried to yoink that sucker out of.
