Every American is either an immigrant or the descendent of immigrants. All of our families originated somewhere else. Even Native Americans aren't native; they just showed up first. Perhaps if they had the "no immigrants" policy so many white Americans are so partial to, there never would have been a United States of America in the first place. Just a thought.

If only this were true. There are a whole host of stories on here where SC's were being racist jackasses and promptly got their posterior regions kissed by a spineless manager and/or corporate.

I wouldn't call my boss awesome by any means. "Idiot" and "turd" are usually better adjectives. He does know how to put racist assholes in their place, though, I will give him that. He's not completely useless.

Hmmm, where should 300 million people go to? The majority of US citizens have roots or are immigrants. A bit of fact that racists tend to forget.

Noone in my family knows where I come from.

Our guess is that I'm half English, and half either Scottish or Irish. Possibly half British, one quarter Scottish, one quarter Irish.

My husband is probably half Russian-Jew by way of Poland, and half German.

So .. I get cut into bits and the bits .. well, hopefully buried in the appropriate countries. He gets cut into two, one part buried in Germany, one part buried .. in Israel? Russia? Poland?

It's too late - and has been for centuries - for people to be 'sent back to where they came from'. Instead, we have to work out how to live with the world we HAVE.

He's writing a book? F*ck that. So am I (several ) I don't scream at people who talk to me while I'm writing. I suspect most people with a modicum of courtesy are the same. He's an idiot.

I'm writing a book, too, and a pair of plays. But I live in my own apartment, with no one but a cat. Why should I yell when I have a whole cast of characters to yell for me?

A few updates:

Apparently, SC apologized to Boss Man and now they're "buddies", as Other MOD put it. SC says he works as a diversity coordinator or something for his company, and doesn't see how he could have said those comments. Somehow, I'm just not buying it.

Not everything can be too hunky-dory, though, because I just got off the phone with Guest Relations regarding this guest. I told her I didn't have much first-hand information, but relayed to her the events from our POV as best as I could.

Oh, and SC is back. Fortunately ACW remembered to note his late check-out this time. I haven't heard a peep from him today...yet...
