  • Duh….I can’t Read. :(

So being that I work third shift I took it upon my self to make a sign for the other night auditors as well as myself included to explain why we don’t have certain rooms after a set period during the night. This is what it reads.

    **ATTENTION GUEST**

*If you ARE a guest here at the ABC Inn & suites, you may open the doors by using your room key. Located on the right side of the double doors Is a slot for your Key Card

    **ATTENTION NON-GUEST**

*If you ARE NOT, , a guest here at the ABC Inn & Suites and you need assistance or a room, please use the CALL BUTTON located on the right side of the double doors or you will not be permitted access or assistance.

*We DO NOT SALE rooms at the $39.95. $42.95, or $49.95 Billboard rate after 11:00pm and not again until 3:00pm

*We have also Undergone New Management recently and have raised our prices. We apologize for any inconveniences you might experience. But We will continue to provide you with excellent guest services and friendly smiles.

*Check out time remains at 11:00am if you check in Any time before 3:00pm.

    Thank you,
    ~Management

Yes I put management at the end so I wouldn’t get any complaints’ when a guest checks in during my shift, it helps so I’m not wasting my breath and it makes the check in process a lot faster because of the explanation. Well you would think that but sadly this is not true. A lot of times guest tap on the window or the slide box under the window to get my attention. I like to sit in the office while this is going on and watch the close circuit camera, that’s pointing at the night window, and laugh at how they can’t read an 8’x11’ peace of paper that states the above message. I like to think of it as instant karma in this regard because the longer it takes them to figure out that I’m not coming and there is a note on the window stating how to gain access to the hotel just seems down right hilarious to me, but sad to in a way . The reason for the sad feeling is because of the education that these SC’s received in their life time.

But then again I was not born or raised on the state that I currently live in So I guess this doesn’t really concern me. But at the same time I wonder when and if I have kids what kind of education they will receive in this state. O well good thing I don’t plan on staying here for to much longer. I have been putting up this sign for over the past 2 years and I still get ppl tapping on the glass, slid box, hell sometimes calling the hotel phone, which I can answer in the office and politely tell them that I did not hear the call button because of the noise from the ac unit in the office. Don’t get me wrong the ac unit is loud but its not on all the time. Hee Hee

Signs are a myth to some people. As are pedestrians.
