I'm playing through that for the first time myself. All hail Sakaguchi-san

Yes, I'm another geek. It's been a while since I last roleplayed, but the odd thing is that I tend to prefer playing male characters. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the challenge of portraying a convincing bloke.

Nothing wrong with geek girls. I had one as a girlfriend for several years, and it was awesome.

Patrick Stewart is the man. Besides being the awesome Captain Picard, he's also a HUGE Transmetropolitan fan and wants to be cast as Spider Jerusalem, which is a concept so full of win that I squee at the thought.
PWNADE(TM) - Serve up a glass today! | PWNZER - An act of pwnage so awesome, it's like the victim got hit by a tank.

Try maybe setting up skype or something. Only one of the players actually lives near my hubby and I. One lives in Jersey, another lives in Cali and still another lives in Texas. Another who would like to play but has been lazy about getting a webcam, lives in Georgia. Skype has been fantastic. Its let my husband get together with the best friends he's had since he was in high school.

We play once a week, usually on Fridays. We're doing a round robin style of gaming. Starting this Friday, we're back to Vampire again, which is my all time favorite.

Have you seen the announcement for the v20 version of Masquerade? I'm so excited and I can't wait. Its going to be about $100, but they have this big blog going where they talk to the players. I've NEVER seen devs talk to the players like they're talking to us.

I don't normally do this but you should check it out if you love the WoD.

You know, for a brief moment, I was having a really dumb moment where I was thinking "how did you know I was a goth?" XD

(I am a goth geek heehee).

I'd not heard the announcement, but as a self-respecting goth, I have of course heard of Masquerade I may check that out, if only just to snoop.

My fiance was the one who suggested WoD and even though I don't/can't participate he still tells me about what game they have going at the time etc. I would do skype but really, the time differences and our schedules never meet up. I'm in the UK and a bunch of the players are in Oregon so a full 8 hours behind and we have work schedules to contend with poo.

I recently discovered a comic book store in my city in an area I was unfamilliar with and they had lots of stuff I'm into (including a lot of Slave Labour Graphics wooo!). Sadly, they don't have Michael Turner's Fathom ; _ ; I loved that when I was a teenager. I learned a lot of drawing techniques from it as well. Thats one of the ones guys would give me weird looks for reading, being as it was particularly boob-erific

I remember when I first started gaming online in the mid 90's...
Not only could other players, mostly teenage boys, not get it into their heads that I wasn't a boy, but it totally imploded brains when they found out it was a while since I'd been a teenager

I still seem to go for "male oriented" things now... the course I'm doing at the moment, I'm the only female in my tutor group, and the last one I did I was one of 3 females out of about 80!

I think the only time I know I'm a girl sometimes is the fact that my not small boobs get in the way.

I'm actually running a 1 on 1 GURPS game over Skype with another CSer right this minute! And there's plans in the works to do some D20 with various people as well.

                ^-.-^
I've played D&D with one of the players on video Skype chat. We stuck the laptop on the table, used a dicerolling addon for his rolls, and it worked just fine.

My dad taught me to play first edition D&D when I was 8 years old. 30 years and half a dozen rulesets later I still play.

I'm a gamer geekette! I worked at a gaming store. (If anyone in the Virginia/DC/Maryland area wants the website of the store, just PM me).

I'd get the "You're only gaming because you're boyfriend/husband games." Wasn't even true when I played 2.0. Got a boyfriend while in the campaign, but I didn't game just because I was interested in a guy in the group. Actually, in that group, I was friends with one person (a guy), and we weren't interested in each other "that way".

Played Vampire & Werewolf in college. Again, because I wanted to, not because of a male.

I've been told I'm not a serious girl gamer because I ... *gasp* ... dress all "girly". (Really feminine dresses/skirts. Occassionally I'll wear a game t-shirt - like all my old ones that were sold @ HochCon in the early 2000's, promoting mods for Living Greyhawk).

The "too girly" comment is from girls who try their hardest to dress like the guy gamers. To blend in? I suppose? Not sure why they do it, but that's what they do.

And for the record. I love DMs and they love me. And Im also a DM. So there.

Ren Faires and Corsets - and the proper way to tie/lace them

Trek - Next Gen (Sir Patric Stewart FTW!)

I can look at a car or motorcycle, and tell if I like it think its "sexy" - but I may not be able to tell you why - but after seeing the trend of likes and dislikes you'll be able to figure out what it is... I still won't.

my bf is a grease-monkey/gear head - and i look at him with the "deer in the headlights" look, and make him explain until it make sense.

I'm also a music geek, and a history geek (it kinda goes well with the Rennie stuff)

just don't ever make me choose between shoes and swords - its not fair!

Me: *Relay story of SC* I was thinking there should be a “Jerk Tax” applied to this special case.

Tech: Oh…well, his repair WAS going to be $80 + tax, but I think $100 + tax sounds a bit better for him. I’ll let him know.

                            Letsee.

Worked at a Car dealer for 8 years...

Managed an autobody shop for 2...

Now I work at a TV repair shop as the parts manager and IT lady.

I think the morons I've had over the years can be summed up by one guy from the body shop:

"They let WOMEN do this now??"

Yup. I even drove myself here.

Patrick Stewart . . . *drools* Have you seen his Macbeth on PBS Great Performances? Holy . . . The man is sexier at seventy than most men are in their thirties.

Never really thought of myself as a geek, I guess, but I've been reading/writing SF since the late 1950's, and played both D&D and Space Opera when they were new . . .
