Tales from my garage sale

Speaking of garage sales there's going to be what sounds like an interesting one in my neighborhood....starts at 9....and I plan to show up around 9 or later, not early. It's not hard to follow posted hours.

I also run a monthly flea market and so far I have not had to deal with sucky customers.....everyone's been pretty cool.

Sadly today is my last day of business on this garage sale for this month. I'm planning to do another one next month with some friends. I'll admit that at least with running a garage sale as opposed to working in a retail store I can get away with staying what often times I can't say on the clock to people who annoy me. Obviously you have to maintain professionalism but at least I can call some of these SCs out for what they are... and not worry about much retribution other then perhaps losing out on a $1 sale (oh noez).

Most people are cool tho. It just seems like at least in my area I seem to also attract some real loonies.

Yeah I don't get why she complained that GOD FORBID I was eating breakfast while running an garage sale. I mean I could understand when on the clock in a retail store or something but yeesh... its an garage sale and I'm by myself which means yeah I pretty much have to GOD FORBID eat in front of you Mrs. Loony.

I always thought it was just me but it's pretty much and unfortunately a vast majority of iPhone end (l)users think they're so SMRT (no typo) and cool because they own an iPhone. I donated all my tapes to a charity shop a couple of weeks ago - 5 boxes full. Damn, I had a lot.

Just a note..they still sell vhs/dvd combos . Which can be used to transfer all those old good VHS tapes to DVD's. Don't know how long this will continue to be the case, but they can also be quite cheap

Only if you get one where the DVD has write capabilities. We have a combo, but the DVD side is player-only, so we can copy all our DVDs to VHS, but not vice versa.

There are. They're the ones who show up at your yard sale at 7am when you advertised as starting at 9, and try to buy stuff while you're setting up. They try to get ridiculous reductions in your prices, and they clean up with stuff to sell at their own sale, which they generally hold weekly.

It's a little too common in my neighbourhood.

You might want to check your local ordinances about that. I know in my neck of the woods, a household is only legally allowed to hold 2 sales per calendar year, and they can only have signs out for that day, and only on their property (yeah, right, as if anyone followed that).

As for my garage sale that I went to I made a killing there...brought home a nice glass blender in good condition, a snack master in good condition, a beautiful hanging candle holder and a bar of fancy soap for 5 bucks...
