I'm not sure exactly what happened whith this SC but my guess is they wanted to scam a cheaper price. It seems in one of our weekly ads we had two similar products listed. different, sizes, manufactures and ingredients. Product A was on sale for $1.99 each, product B $2.50 each. It seems they were trying to get product B for the $1.99 price.
I got the last part of the argument with MOD
SC: But what you are doooing is boat and switch! You have <product a> advertised at $1.99, but only sell <product b> for $2.50!
MOD: As I showed you earlier, <points to flyer> we have <A> at $1.99 each <in section> and <B> at $2.50 each <in other section>. Bait and switch would be if we advertised <A> at $1.99, had no intention of selling it, and mad you buy <B> at $2.50, which we did not do.
SC: Fine. So it not "bait and switch," it's FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MOD: and how is is it false advertising?
SC: Because you only have product <B> at $2.50 and not product <A>!
The MOD excuses them selves and grabs one of each product and takes the SC to a price scanner. They show SC the flyer, the product and scan it. Like advertised they both scan at the sale price.
MOD: So, I confirmed that we do have both items, and they are scanning correctly as advertised. Is their anything else I can do you you?
SC: Yes! STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE WHITH FALSE ADVERTISING!
The SC stomps off. If that was it, I probable wouldn't be writing this. A few days later the Sc apparently complains to corporate, now with a few additional "details."
In that time mysterious this sale had been going on for three weeks (FALSE, it was a one week sale), they never talked to a manager, a nameless employee told them we don't carry <A> and they called another nearby store and asked a manager who does not exist and the confirmed that they don't sell <A> either and it was mistakenly put in the flyer.
The only sad part is while MOD had a spine, the SC most likley got rewarded with gift cards by corporate for the "inconvenience" and "hardship" we made them go thru.
