The cappuccino woman in the OP probably thought it would taste like caramel. Like hot chocolate but caramel instead of chocolate.

I wonder what baristas in Italy do when somone asks for a frappaccino, considering that's something *bucks made up?

When in France, I always just stuck to cafe au lait. Simple and easy to remember and they were always delicious. If I ever acutally get to travel to Italy, I'd probably stick with latte or caffe americano con crema/panna (anyone know which is more correct?). I always travel w/ my own preferred sweetener (stevia) and I tend to like my coffee nice and strong (at home I use one scoop per 6 oz of water) anyway.
    Don't wanna; not gonna.

SC: *long pause* Now, that's like the one at the gas station, right?
      Me: Pardon?
SC: You make the cappuccinos just like the gas station?
      First: Welcome back, fellow bou!

Second: I dont get many of the cappuccino as gas station anymore, for some reason. But when I did, I usually reccomended a white mocha, possibly extra sweet. Now I'd probably suggest a vanilla white mocha.
My webcomic is called Sidekick Girl. Val's job is kinda like retail, except instead of corporate's dumb policies, it's the Hero Agency, and the SC's are trying to take over the world.

Just remember in Italy to ask for cafe latte, not a latte, otherwise you'll get a glass of milk.

Argh... I get that all the time... Doing shoots at the studio.

          "I don't like that photo."

          "Can you tell me why?"

          "I just don't like it..."

          "Is it the pose?"

          "No."

          "Is it the background?"

          "No..."

          "Is it the angle?"

          "Yeah..."

Thank you Jesus... Then lather rinse repeat for the rest of the session which is infuriating esp when you're backed up with sessions and this person can't figure out which way's up.

use to get people like that when I was a Navy tech.

"My computer doesn't work"... and it's like pulling teeth to find out what's actually happening.
it's turned out to be everything from "there's no power at the outlet" (which wasn't our problem to fix) to "no video" or "can't log in".

I breathed a sigh of relief at the end when the lady's drink turned out to be the right one. Good detective skills....you have much more patience than I do!

Being from Massachusetts, and growing up with a "frappe" which I guess most of the states would call a milkshake, lol. I always thought that a Frappuccino was a blending of frappe & cappuccino. You nudged my curiosity, so I goggled it! Wikipedia says this:

Frappuccino was created by Holden Grossman in 2001. Frappuccino is a portmanteau of frappe and cappuccino, an espresso coffee with frothed milk. It is unclear whether frappe is taken from frappé, a Greek iced coffee, or from the Boston area term for a thick milkshake frappe (pronounced "frap"), both of which come from the French word frappé. The original Frappuccino beverage was developed, named, trademarked and sold by George Howell's Eastern Massachusetts coffee shop chain, The Coffee Connection. When Starbucks purchased The Coffee Connection in 1994, they also gained the rights to use, make, market, and sell the Frappuccino beverage, and soon after began to sell the beverage chain wide.
Being that it's origins are from the Massachusetts area, I'm inclined to think that my idea is indeed correct ^_^
