Tonight when I clocked in, we had one room left for tomorrow. When I later checked availability, that room got sold. That last room was a smoking room. In the guest comment section, guest didn't request, but demanded a non somking room.

Not going to happen. The very last room available was smoking. There's no way we can meet the request.

I've had that happen more times than I care to count. If you book a smoking room, you need to expect to get a smoking room.

If I have a cancellation, I'll move you (and those people are so happy and grateful when that happens, they kind of make up for the dbags), but don't expect it.

If your request doesn't drop in at the last minute, I have have housekeeping deep clean the room, but it's still going to smell like smoke somewhat.

I'll also get, "But I'm a nonsmoker, can I get a discount?" Yeah, if that's my last room, I'm going to sell it at full price, whether you pay it or someone else does. Either take it, or good luck finding something else in town!

That's good to hear.

The all caps thing can be interesting. I know some people I deal with on eBay don't get that all caps means screaming, so I kind of just put up with it. :P
