I'm not really sure. Like I said, I was only half listening. I did hear E use the phrase "Just between you and me, you can have one free" or something like that. Maybe he gave her a coupon or something for a free one next time she came in?Quoth Jester View PostSo then...how did the manager give her a free one?
I mostly agree with you. My main problem was with seating a party of twelve at 8:30. When you know for a fact that you're going to be getting your food after the restaurant is technically closed, you should probably go somewhere else. Also, they were rude to the server and stayed until ten, not because they were eating, but because they were talking. Possibly not the ultimate suck, but still inconsiderate.Quoth Jester View PostIf you stop seating at 9, people who walk in at 8:30 should reasonably expect to get served. We are actors! If you're willing to seat a party of four at 8:30, you have to be willing to seat a party of 12 at 8:30.Quoth Tsiyeria View PostMy main problem was with seating a party of twelve at 8:30.
Perhaps, but--and I hate to sound like management again--that's part of the job. And it's not the CUSTOMER'S job to know how long it's going to be until they get their food. And, technically, you're not closed at 9, you stop seating at 9. And maybe your town is different from mine, but 9 is kind of early to close the kitchen. I know of exactly one place that serves dinner but does that here in KW.Quoth Tsiyeria View PostWhen you know for a fact that you're going to be getting your food after the restaurant is technically closed, you should probably go somewhere else.
And here is where I start agreeing with you. Being rude to the server is (almost) never acceptable. (Some servers are complete asswipes, though.) And while it's not that unreasonable for people to want to socialize after a meal, if they saw that you were closing up, it was somewhat inconsiderate. But as you said, not the ultimate suck. In no way as bad as Ms. Bacon Bits or Potato Lady, for sure.Quoth Tsiyeria View PostAlso, they were rude to the server and stayed until ten, not because they were eating, but because they were talking.
