So this young woman comes up to me and says she wants to use a computer. I ask if she had a card with us and she said she had a card with G branch. I tell her to use that card, but she says that she didn't have that card with her. I tell her I can look her up with her id.

She hands me an id, but the picture on it was of a guy. He had a five o'clock shadow and looked like it might be her brother. She looked like she was in her early 20's, but that seemed too young to have a sex change operation. I asked, "is this you?" and her companion says, "Is she trying to be funny?" I tell him, "I'm not trying to be funny but I can't tell." I finally tell her to go to another desk for them to give her the number. I hated handing her off but I sent her to the desk that should be able to answer any questions about library cards. I just didn't think it was her in the photo, and the id said it was a male.

I know there are guys out there that can have very smooth skin, but the guy in the picture had the type of facial hair that would be impossible to be smooth-shaven.

Really hated her companion who tried to bust my balls. Could you be less rightous?

See this is why I really fucking hate people like this with a passion. I feel very strongly about it because they get so dam offended when you get confused about what gender they are, all because they choose to look and dress this way, probably knowing full well that some people are gonna get their sex mixed up by accident.
I had this happen to me several times, and I'm basically sick and tired of people like this, with the last girl saying, "Now you can feel like a dumbass for calling me sir." Fucking bitch.
If you're a guy and you look like a girl or vise versa, then don't complain if someone calls you Maam or Mr.

My little sister is a very butch girl. She shaves her head but not her legs, and she usually wears men's clothes.

However, she's always amused (and I think a little pleased) when someone calls her "sir".

It only pisses me off when I actually look like a girl and someone calls me "that little guy." I don't sound like a guy, I don't look like a guy, and just because I don't have double D's doesn't mean I'm a homosexual man. Really, honestly.

When I DID look like a guy I didn't care. I was perfectly amused by it. It was fine, I didn't even correct people when they would call me Sir or mix up my gender. I was dressed like a guy, had hair like a guy, and maybe back then my voice did sound like a boy going through puberty, who the hell knows? But that was then.

Now, when someone refers to me in the wrong gender I just kinda give them a really odd look because I LOOK NOTHING LIKE A MAN AT ALL. It really confuses me.

You were right though, neither of them should be getting angry over the ID being that of a man. I had that happen to me once and I kinda just took the ID because I noticed that she had very hairy upper arms. I was super smooth about it too.

once i had a pre op transvestite type person (unsure of correct phrase) come up to me on a nightclub door where i asked for ID, looked at the picture and it showed a young male looked up and saw someone in a dress, make up and long hair and said "this isnt you love". Cue them snapping the id off me and storming off...the BF or frind who was with them and still there then said it is him/her but they are pre op and it is really him/her.

Compared the nose and chin shapes to the id and they were right so let him/her in.....damn hard to tell unless u are looking close....when it happened i at a quick glance saw and ugly chick in a dress not a man waiting for the chop so the ID didnt match...
