  • Sc phone shppers arggg!

    They call on weekends when you are busy helping customers that are standing in front of you...they call and complain cus it took 'so long to for you to answer the phone' then they want you to 'hold' the crap they want, then never come to pick it up after you dragged the crap and tagged it with their name...God i hate the work phone

    I once had a customer who wanted me to look through every single style of swimsuit we carried for her daughter's size while she waited on the phone. I looked at my manager, and she told me to tell the customer that we had 75 or so separate styles and that if she wanted a swimsuit for her daughter, she would have to come into the store or go online because we simply did not have time to do that for her.

      OMG this! I live in alaska and we get a lot of bush orders. I don't mind them as they're basically free commissions because we can't sell the extended warranties out there. But I absolutely despise the people that want to know every appliance available. My company has a website. Research then call.kthxbai click.

        Some folks just don't understand that sales people are not the same as "personal shopping assistants". I mean, sure, in most cases it isn't going to be a problem to check if something is in stock, and get a price on it. I can even get asking that something be held, as some stores do provide that service. However, if it is more than a couple of items and/or the store is busy, then they should not be upset or surprised when a salesperson informs them that they must help the customers in the store first.

          Man, I remember my job in my sister's shop. I got a lot of calls from people to put things on hold. A bout half the time someone would pick them up, the rest of the time whoever called would just never show up.

            We get this a lot on order entry calls. I can understand one or two simple questions, but "I'm redoing my room and I just can't decide about anything, can you help me figure it out?" Dear SC, I am not paid NEARLY as much as a professional designer...and moreover I am paid to answer calls as they come in and not keep new calls on hold too long. Since you are made of money, hire a real designer and then call us back (or have them do it).
            "I was only LOOKING, I didn't mean to enter my card's CVV and actually ORDER! REFUND ME RIGHT NOW!!"

              These are the same people who would get pissed if they're standing in line and you have to answer the phone.
