Today was my day off but I ended up working anyways. I see this lady talking to my boss who owns the restaurant. I just caught the tail end of the conversation where he is telling her "maybe she knew the other people" and she replies "I don't think so" and he says "I'll talk to her".
Now this is a big deal because he takes complaints seriously. He pretty much always takes the customers side which really sucks but I make good tips and have decent shifts that really work well with my kids school schedule. My youngest is autistic and non-verbal so this is very important to me.
So anyways after she walks away I ask him what it was about. He says she was complaining because I asked for her ID and not the other tables ID. I realised it was when she paid with her credit card. I told him that her credit card said check ID theirs did not. I only check if people write it. Most people thank me for checking.
Now the good part he goes after her and tells her it was because her credit card said to check. She digs out her card looks at it and says "I didn't know it said that". Bitch stupid ass trying to get me in trouble I hope she felt like a dumb ass. It's not like I go around writing that on peoples credit card. Stupid cow I'm still pissed.

uuugh i hate having to id check for CC. grownups throwing tantrums like 2 year olds.
most of the time it's because they never arsed to sign the card in the first place.
they dont get that an unsigned card is invalid. even when i point out where it's written on the card itself!

See the thing is I don't even ask if it's not signed I only ask if it says to ask for ID. So if you don't want to show it don't write it. What really pissed me off is the bitch tried to get me in trouble.

I never understand why people get offended at having to show ID to use their credit card. I'll admit I never get super excited or grateful to be asked like some people do, but if the cashier chooses to ask me it's no big deal. My ID is right next to my credit card anyway. I just don't get why people think that if they are asked they are being accused of something. We aren't trained just to ask people that give off the thief vibe. Ugh.
