I think the participants in this thread might like to read this article about the struggle to get bras that fit and support properly.

Sports bras provide more support as designers focus on athletic women.

I'm perfectly fine with being an A cup, I'm actually afraid to go into a store to get measured because...well...I've spent so long in the A range (I'm like one step away from a B) that I'm not sure what I'll do if I have to get Bs.
Buy a B. Seriously, it's no different from an A - at least not from my G-cup vantage point.

Once you get to my sort of size, you have to learn how to not just but a bra on but adjust your tits into place.
(Bend over. Grip the bra by the underwire, if any, reach into the top of the bra, move your tits until they're placed comfortably. Straighten up, reach into the side of the bra, pull any breast material that's crept ventral - spine-wards - of the cup seam forward into the cup. If nipple position matters to you, tweak the position of the nipples. Do a kind of shimmy to settle everything. Roll the arms and ribs to make sure everything's comfortably placed. Tweak as needed.)

But from what I've seen, A through to C is approximately 'put bra on. admire self in mirror. get on with day.'

      ##@$(^*%^#$ lucky lot you are.

EDIT: the above is not intended to be malicious or hate-y towards smaller cup sizes. I'm told it could come across that way. I personally wish I had smaller tits, and my reduction surgery has been indefinitely delayed. (Boooo!) If there is any angst in what I've posted, it's probably more accurately directed at my frustration.
      My sincere apologies.

I actually wear one of those as often as possible but fine those difficult for work situations because they cut too close to the neck and show up too much under any top I wear. (Don't get me on the subject of the length of tops these days. I either end up with something way too baggy or they barely meet the top of the highest trouser waist line I can find).

I've honestly never understood why people just won't admit that they're the size they are. I'd rather be comfortable than shelter in the self-delusion that I'm not actually as fat as I am.
I agree, but this lack of self-delusion is in the distinct minority. I'm in the medical field, I listen to peoples lungs and poke on their bellies as part of my job. Lift up the back of the top, place stethoscope on back, listen. While listening, nothing much to do but look for scary moles. In this process, it's very rare to see a bra that is not straining at the widest hook setting. It's not just women, either. Most guys are wearing pants with a waist 2-4 inches too small.

An off-topic rant: I could kill the person who invented spaghetti-strap tops with built-in shelf bras. Since last summer the fashion has been to wear one, two or even three of these over the top of a regular bra. Good luck getting a stethoscope under all that. I was doing an exam on a 20-something woman who was in with her mother and I said jokingly "I hate these kind of tops" and the woman said "Yeah, that's what the guys at college all say!" Her mom about spewed her coffee.

Seriously, it's gotta be tough for a young man get to second base these days.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the restraints...

I think that has little to do with the cup size. I've got friends who have Bs that do that little song and dance too yet I've got a rather large set and pretty much just put the bra on, give it a little jiggle to let everything settle nicely, and go.

I know you didn't mean any malice with your post but I've seen a lot of anger and hate from women of one side of the size spectrum directed towards women at the other end, and I've seen even more venom spewed from both sides at women with very common sizes. I just want everyone to be aware of that and make sure this thread doesn't head that way.

My apologies. I don't hate women with smaller breasts, I'm just a bit envious. Especially now, because it seems my reduction is indefinitely delayed.

I feel no malice, no hatred. I just want to be smaller, myself. And my sincere apologies if it came out otherwise.

Seshat, even though I'm in the "average size and don't need any surgery" category I can certainly send you my sympathies. I sometimes see women with HUGE breasts and just wonder if they are happy with them or really suffering in silence. Reduction surgery should be something everyone who qualifies (physically) should be able to get.

I WISH I could get a reduction, but since I'm overweight, nobody will touch me and insurance won't pay for it. FML, I hate these damn things.

Last time I was measured I'm a DD, and most of the time I like them, I really do, but I hate the struggle to find proper-fitting bras and I hate how any top I get either looks like sackcloth or looks like I should be in a street corner.

I feel the same way. I'm a large C cup but because I am short and have a smaller frame (albeit very hourglass shaped), they look like they overpower my top half. In the dog days of summer, I look like I'm about to go clubbing and partying it up slut style in a simple tanktop. I always wear two shirts, a cami under whatever shirt is on top, unless the shirt is high enough cut or thick enough where it doesn't cause Cleavage Catastrophy.

But because I don't have back problems and they aren't abnormally large and aren't misshapen (they are lopsided, dammit), forget it. Unless I want to pay for all of it.

I have the problem of being an E-cup and not finding anything affordable that looks NICE. I've managed to find a few here and there, although I don't want a lacy one as my everyday bra. I also thought that it was meant to be widest hook setting then as the bra stretched, you'd go in further? O.o

True, but if the bra is straining at the "loosest" setting, then obviously its too small in the band - extenders can be bought, if its the right cup size and the next band size is too loose even on the tightest hook setting... (but honestly if its straining that badly I doubt that the next band size is too loose)
