Boiled Dinner is this: take two carrots, a turnip, a few peeled potatoes, a cabbage cut in quarters, and a large lump of pickled meat, usually pork but sometimes corned beef. Throw it all in a big pot with lots of water. Boil it until the turnip has softened enough to eat plus about 4 hours.

That name reminds of a dessert at the Outback Steakhouse. It was called Chocolate Thunder From Down Under. What came to mind when I saw it on the menu was this (just a description, no picture). I could never bring myself to order it.
