  • Do My Work for Me!

Damn. This is a customer because she did purchase our software. But she needed another program (which we also make) to do a job she won a bid on.

Apparently she somehow thought the demo that she has would do the job (NOT!). So after some back and fourth about that and why demos don't do all the same stuff as the paid program, she finally decided to email all of her files to us and demand we change the format for her.

The reason she gave was, and I'm quoting here, "We really have no need to purchase [program name]. It’s very rare we need this."

First sentence is a logic fail. Because apparently you DO need that program to do the job.

Second sentence also. It's very rare but it's apparently come up more than once already and you anticipate it happening again.

Now I'm not saying she needs to invest in the program. It might not be cost-effective and how she runs her business is her business. Only she would know.

But what CAN be done is hiring a contractor who owns the program. I helpfully gave her a list of names. Or perhaps, even better, since the person who CREATED those files has the program, he or she can save them in universal format that you can use and send them to her again.

I wisely chose not to suggest that they stop bidding on jobs that they don't have the tools to complete.
The best karma is letting a jerk bash himself senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.

The stupid is strong with this one.

Nothing like trying to get somebody else to do your work for free, eh?
