I know of schools that are using similar concepts. it prevents any possibility of viruses ever since they use a custom bootrom that copies a read only c: drive image to c: everytime the system boots. Brute force antivirus.

I have this all the time. People ask the exact same question in different ways, thinking somehow they will get you to say yes. I really don't understand that mindset. Kudos to you for speaking up.Comment

My best guess is that they think (for no apparent reason) that the tech is either lying to them -- so they rephrase the question to try and "Catch" them or else scam them into saying a "correct" answer via attrition, or else that they must phrase things in a very specific way in order to get help. Bit of an update on this issue, though not that particular luser.
Apparently enough people have had similar issues at The Client that they finally did work out a way to restore them.
