Here are some more nights from hell while working at various hotels on the night audit shift.
One night we had to deal with a crazy woman running around the hotel. She would even find her way into the back employee only corridors and flash our banquet staff. We called the police and thought that was the end of it but they declined to jail her and brought her back to the hotel. She then asked to use the phone and proceeded to yell at the police officer on the desk.
One guest was upset because we had a very large banquet that night and every spot was parked up. He felt that because they were only there for a one night banquet and he was an overnight guest that he deserved to park up front. We told him he could park all the way in the back and we would have someone drive over and take him to the front. That was apparantly not good enough. He still argued with us and insisted on parking in a handicapped spot. We told him that would be fine but we would call the cops on him and have him ticketed. Yeah, you guessed it - more yelling.
One night a bunch of drunks overloaded the elevator and it stopped between floors. We had to call the fire department and have them break into the elevator because we were told there was a woman passed out on the floor of the elevator. What a bunch of dumbasses.
We had a long term guest who always got a room with a king sized bed. One night the afternoon shift forgot to set one aside for him and the only time we had to put him in a room with two double beds he came back down and checked out and we never saw him again. WTF!!!!! One mistake and the dude takes off????
One time a bunch of african american women and their kids came back to the hotel from an evening out and made a little bit of noise in the hallway. We received some complaints and our security guard was sent to the room to ask (nicely) if they could just be a little quieter. Well, gee, you would have thought we were the devils. Because me and the guard were both white we were yelled at for a half hour because we were apparently racists. I tried to tell them that it had nothing to do with race - if they were white we would still have had to ask them to quiet down.
