    In Texas? Regretfully not.
Sounds like Mysty works for a paper in the eastern part of the state....unless she's in MY town!
I dunno about your town, but I am in eastern Texas. VERY eastern. Pretty much as Eastern as you can get without being in Arkansas. /really thick hint

"How do I save this thing?"

No kidding. The man makes $120,000/year, and doesn't know how to save a document in Word. He uses that computer EVERY SINGLE DAY. Frightening, isn't it?
So . . . uh . . . yeah . . . I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say "well, maybe's he's used to more expensive programs . . " but then A. Why isn't he using one of those more expensive programs and B. the basics for all those programs are generally the same!! File>Save, how hard is that? And this wasn't something he could ask you over the phone???!!! Oh boy . . .
This area is left blank for a reason.

Yeah, my brother is one of those guys in shorts in the cold, cold MI weather. He'll walk through snow and ice in his shorts (though it's usually only when he's dressed up in gear for basketball games). Yesterday, he sat outside for 6 hours at the Bres in a t-shirt, thin sweatshirt, basketball shorts, white knee socks and shoes. I tend to think he's nuts.

And I've noticed a large number of girls lately out in the middle of winter, subzero temps and all, in their Ugg boots/slippers with short skirts or cutoff sweatpants. What good do fur-lined boots do if your legs are bare?

Well, the thing is, he'd been working for that particular department for 8 years, and they've used Word all that time. He really was just that dense when it came to computers. Blackberry? Man, he could thumb near 50 words a minute with that thing, long as it didn't need to be spell-checked (i.e. it was an informal e-mail). But ask him to do something official or, you know, secretarial, and he was lost. We got his 8 year old daughter to set him his remote connection at home

Your brother wouldn't happen to go to Michigan State would he? I have numerous friends who go there. Surprisingly enough, I've seen people dress like that at work during the cold snap we suffered.

Regarding dressing inappropriately for the weather. It reminds me of a long-ago "For Better Or For Worse" strip in which several teenagers are waiting at a bus stop wearing short skirts, short sleeves, etc., and rubbing their hands together, shivering, blowing on their hands, etc. (Remember the strip is set in Canada).

A kid all bundled up in heavy coat, muffler, mittens, and hat walks by, and the kids at the bus stop laugh at him/her, and then go back to shivering.

My 16-year-old stepson has a grubby old hooded sweatshirt (I will NOT call it a hoodie) that he wears no matter the weather over his T-shirts. It can be 85 outside and he'll still wear that thing, and then complain about it being hot. In contrast, he has an uncle (who due to the 20-year age span between my husband and his youngest brother, is just a year older than my stepson) who's currently going through a phase where all he wants to wear is the thinnest of muscle shirts. The family likes to tease him in cold weather by locking him out of the car.
He loves the world...except for all the people.

I actually remember that one. Must have been at least 20 years ago.

Interesting thing about that strip is, the characters actually age. I can still remember when Michael was a child, and Elizabeth was a toddler. And I remember when they killed off Farley, the family's dog. But since the characters age, they had to at some point. Most dogs don't live 50 years like Snoopy.

Now. The woman who I turned to face at this point really, really, REALLY stood out. Probably because she was wearing a pink parka, windpants, furry boots, a tobaggan hat, and goggles. She seriously looked like she should have skis strapped to her back.
Isn't this typical tourist wear in Canada - in August?

That he would, ArenaBoy, he and my cousin are current students, and I'm an alum. (It's a family thing--both my parents went there as well)

Heh heh, I live at home because the school I go to at one point was a branch of MSU but then it got it's own name. It's also a 20 minute drive for me. My friend puts it as a MSU education but cheaper and less party folk if you just want to study. I spent 2 summers at MSU for a sports camp and was up there a few months ago to help a friend move in. I will say that it's a bad idea to ride around on a girls bike on campus in front of the students moving in, bonus points if you're 6'2.

I think I noticed that in one of your other posts, ArenaBoy, about camp at MSU. I graduated in '05, but I'm still up there all the time. In fact, I'm headed back up tomorrow, and we're going to Ann Arbor for the basketball game.

It really does as I found out from my friend in Melborne, OZ. I asked her for a pair of Uggs for x-mas one year and she asked "What kind?"

They are however the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Like walking around in super warm slippers all day!
The only words you said that I understood were "His", "Phone" and "Ya'll". The other 2 paragraphs worth was about as intelligible as a drunken Teletubby barkin' come on's at a Hooter's waitress.
