  • If you don't want to hear about your friend's injuries here...

... then don't go and do the same thing!

BG: There was an incident one Sunday with some travellers. One of them decided it would be a barrel of laughs to climb our banister and slide down despite our security guards (who I mentioned before in my vents about escalator abuse) telling them not to do it. One of them fell about eight feet and broke his shoulder. Our managers called an ambulance for him. In fact, only yesterday someone came up to me to demand of my manager to see the footage to make sure he wasn't pushed. Today, I see a girl straddling the banister of our escalator up. /BG

    Me-
SC1: The girl who acted in a manner I was concerned about
    SC2: Her friend

    Me: Excuse me!
    SC 1: What?
Me: I saw you mounting the escalator banister back there, you should know that someone fell off sliding down our stair banister and he ended up falling off...
    SC2: Did he die?
Me: No, but he did break his shoulder, which meant...
    SC1: Eww! That's gross! You're disgusting.
Me: (unamused) Well, you'll understand that I am quite keen to not have a repeat incident, but nevertheless.
SC1: I don't want to hear about stuff like that!
Me: (Thoughts: Then don't do it again you idiot!)

She won't hear of stuff happening like that, she'll have some real world experience on the subject.

A broken shoulder is "gross" and "disgusting"? Jeez, dramatic much? What a twit.

Ignorance is bliss, I guess...too bad it ends up biting you in the ass later (and it would bite both the girl AND your store, in this case...)

                My thought exactly.

But of course, saying that can get you in a buttload of trouble at work, too.

I hope she doesn't have the same problem with birth control.

To be honest, I doubt she'll ever use it and it's free here in the UK. I mean, we're talking about an ethnic group that is known for girls getting married at 16.

That reminds me, I saw two of these girls (not the same ones) fighting because one was married and her husband duped the other into dating him, not pretty.

she probably wasn't listening and thought the guy broke his penis or something like that.

but if she thinks injuries are gross... well that's more reason to not be dumb.
