You explained to him that they were broken, and he was basically being an ass because he had to lift something that was a little heavy (I've seen small elderly women with skinny arms lift up things heavier than a 12 pack of soda btw). I feel your pain, because I just posted a story about how a belt on 1 of our lanes broke, so we could not take any big orders. Most people understood, but in the short 20 minutes I was on that register I had 2 people get upset because they didn't understand this concept and wanted to hand their stuff to me. When I stood my ground and politely told them sorry I could not, they stalked away mad.
you. I would've told the guy the exact same thing. I'm surprised his wife didn't intervene, but she probably gets off on seeing her husband put people like you down.
Did the customer notice that her performance wasn't getting the reviews she wanted?
