To the Point, Futile, But to the Point
-Why was my car towed from 100 Mapleton St?
-It was called in to us for not having a permit, that's a private lot, cars require permits to park there. It will be $115 to release the vehicle.
-How do I get out of this?
-You don't, you have to pay to get it back.
-Fine, I'll be in later.
That wasn't bad, but then her MOM got on the phone and we went round n' round , right round like a record, baby for a good 15 minutes before she gave up too.
"Close" is a Relative Term
-Why did I get towed?
-You exceeded the posted 2 hour limit at that lot
-No I didn't!
-Sir, we hear this excuse all the time, and I won't argue with you about it. You went over the limit.
-That's impossible!
-Sir, your car was there at 7:10, the tires were chalked, when the person who chalked them returned at 9:20, the marks were still there, and it was towed at 9:45, that's a full 20 minutes AFTER it had already been parked for 2 hours and ten minutes... so you were over the limit by a good half hour
-Well, yeah! Don't you think that's cutting it awfully close?
-Uh..... no?
-Fine!
Well, In the grand scheme of things, where it takes 65 million years of erosion to wear down a mountain range into a nice flat tidal shoal, no, I don't think we cut anything close at all, we could've missed towing you by a week and a half and it'd still be an almost instantaneous event on the geologic clock

He is my Black Dragon (and yes, a good one) strong, protective, the guardian. I am his Silver Dragon, always by his side, shining for him, cherishing him.
