These stories are from last week.
giw=guy in wheelchair
First customer was in a wheelchair. He comes up to the third floor with another customer (both are talking way too loud; I was about to tell them to talk softer); the second customer says he was just bringing the guy up, so I guess he was just some stranger helping him.
Guy in the wheelchair was sent up since the computers on the third floor have waist-height desks, unlike the stands on the first floor which are chest-height. Giw wants us to go online and get into his bank account (pretty much do all the work for him). I tell him we don't get into people's accounts since if something goes wrong, the library will be blames. The bank, of course, told this computer illiterate to go to the library to do his bank stuff online. Idiot bank. Anyway, after explaining that I can't do the work for him, he says he just needed the banks phone number, he doesn't know why he was sent to the third floor to use a phone. I explain that we can't allow customers to use our phones, but I will get him the bank's phone number. He then tells me in a why-are-you-getting-the-phone-number-for? voice that he has the phone number. I was about to tell him I will get him on a computer but he is on his own, when he wheels away, calling me a "stupid woman."
So of course he goes down stairs and cw tells me that she sending him back up, even though she did tell him that we won't go into his bank account. I was getting pissed so I go to another floor for 10 min. When I come back the manager and director and the director's assistant and some other high-ranking person are there. But they seemed concerned about other things; I was afraid the giw talked to them about the service. But I understand from another cw that he left the building.
Second Story.
I'm by myself on the second floor, putting up books so I'm not watching the desk. I then noticed a customer at the far end at the other desk, but looked like she was looking at flyers. I finish putting up books and go to her. She wants to request materials from a closed area. She leaves me her card and goes away (though she is in my sight) when another customer comes up. Since the first customer went away, I helped the second customer and call the first customer and tell her not to leave. She starts telling me, "why are you mad? you having a bad day?" and she is not showing her teeth but her skin is pulled taunt against her teeth. I really don't get why she thinks I was mad. But I hate people (who are not friends/relatives) who ask me if I'm having a bad day because they are being passive-aggressive.
