Despite its problems, the Apple III is somewhat of a collectible, hence the higher price that people would pay for seriously outdated junk.
O sure. I remember the Apple ///s. As long as you remembered to pick it up a few inches and drop it on the table once in a while (to reseat the loose chips), it was a fine computer for its time. You could buy a 5 MB hard drive for them, but that was sold separately. (yeah, that's five meg, not five gig. Programmers had to know how to write tight code in those days.)

Now if someone has an original Lisa for sale, that would be interesting...

Unbelievable - I hate ebay/amazon/auction site customers. Lying about such things really pisses me off. It's happened to me before and put me off selling anything ever again on ebay.

When it goes into the box and it was tested up until you put it in the box, then the SC gets it and suddenly it's broken, despite the fact that the box wasn't damaged and the customer can't tell you exactly how it's broken, or provide photos even!
There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.

....She reported me to Amazon for "selling defective items". And since thats all automated, Amazon "ran the numbers" and determined that my defective item rate for the year was unacceptable, and banned my account.

10% rate. Because her ONE item....and I've only sold 10 this year.

        It wasnt even defective!!.....

That's messed up. Amazon should give greater consideration to the possibility of an ID10T error.

well, I just discovered that it wasn't just her. They also looked into my feedback, and this morning I got a nasty one from a customer. I sold a video card, and he left a really nasty feedback, and a complaint, that I was falsely misrepresenting my product , blah blah.

It stated "VIDEO CARD ONLY, works perfectly, only used for two months".

He stated that I told him he'd get "all the wires, and the DVID connections".

WTF. I think he meant DVI cables? Which, do not come with video cards. They only come with MONITORS. Even still, it said just a video card! O_o

I'm also in trouble for my response to his feedback, which was "I'm very sorry, but it clearly stated video card only. I think you may have mixed it up with one of the other listings. I'm sorry."

Apparently, I was supposed to "apologize, and offer a return or refund."

Heck no, he isn't getting either! He's already installed it for one, and secondly, he just got a primo video card, in perfect shape, for 40% off. <_<

Sounds like they're still running under the old, out-dated, "The customer is always right" nonsense.

                Happy update!

My first appeal was denied, but I still pressed them about it via support tickets. After writing a miniature novel explaining why I felt my last two customers were in the wrong, they agreed to reactivate my seller account. Part of why they did it was I offered to have my current inventory purged off the site, and that I'd relist everything after personally checking everything again for its condition. Now, I know myself that I listed everything accurately, but I was willing to take this hit, if they'd go for it.

So, next couple of days will be fun, relisting everything, but at least I got my account back. -.-

You probably sell much more via Amazon than I ever did via ebay, but I wouldn't have appealed and would've just given up selling.

Any online selling operation that stands behind "the customer is always right" and is willing to banhammer otherwise good sellers over one or two complaints from obvious idiots, isn't one worth doing business with.

Especially since generally speaking, the sellers are the ones paying the freight.

I am going to wager the next complaint you get gets you banned for good. Even if it's totally stupid like the other two. Amazon was nice to you the first time. The second time they won't be, since you have "an established pattern of customer dissatisfaction" or some such BS.

The problem is that small-time sellers don't make them much money, so their policies are all tailored to the big sellers and buyers. Numerically speaking, it's in their best interests to go with the autoban and appeal method.

Of course, it totally sucks if you're one of those small sellers affected.

The only reason why I usually prefer Amazon is their free "list it and forget it" system. Ebay charges per month for listings, and per listing for auctions, so it gets rather annoying.

But I have to agree with you. I already figured that the next time something stupid happens, they won't be so nice. Not looking forward to that day, should it ever happen. Shouldn't, but you never know, as evidenced by this occurence.

Totally also agree. With the millions of sellers, automation is the best way, and probably saves them bajillions. But yep, sucks for the little guys. =/

This is why I hate Amazon metrics. For holiday-season selling, one of the (IMO ridiculous) "requirements" regardless of overall account performance is 25 items sold within the 90 days prior to the cutoff.

That is out of a seller's hands really...why should it count?
