I'm not much of a UFC fan (although from the little I've seen of it I hold it to higher regard than WWE), but I'd never compare it to S&M... In fact, it's about as much related to S&M as graham crackers are related to an Airbus A320.

Oh heavens, we used to have someone like that in my old bookstore. We'd have people open books and randomly find notes that were like "you're a pervert if you read this" (found in a kama sutra book) and "you will burn in heck, heathen!" (found in an atheism book).

I work in a library and handle teen stuff as part of my job. Our Assistant Director brings me a copy of the UFC Encyclopedia with a note taped to it that read:

"What comes next the Encyc. of Sado-Masichism[sic]? Who are you appealing to anyway?"

Apparently he didn't want to leave a name or any contact information, just bitch to her about how inappropriate it was and how it would appeal to no one and he would never want his three sons to look at it.

Yeah, okay, go censor your own children. Plenty of teens like professional sports, including UFC and other Mixed Martial Arts stuff. You don't? DON'T READ IT. Still don't like it? Peruse this before you complain again and stop wasting our time.

So now I get to file his scrawled note with a copy of the title page of the book, take the book out of the sports display (it's been up for a month already and in the collection for three) and file it back on the shelves.
