Room Involuntarily Vacated

What's really going to be fun is when all their associates start showing up trying to claim their stuff. Not sure what the policy is at your place, but here we can only release items to the person who was the registered guest (unless it's a purse or wallet with ID that we can check...then we'll let the person who's ID is there to get it). The only other way we can release the items to someone else is if the registered guest contacts us to make arrangements. People will throw a sh*t when I won't release the lost & found to them instead (or in some cases, let them into the room before housekeeping even starts to bring in lost & found).

The interesting things you find out when you work the Night Audit.

Had a person come to the desk, and identify himself as being with the <local> Police department. Apparently, one of our long term guests was distributing illegal substances on our property. These were particularly annoying guests that would wait 'til the last minute to extend their stay, and then come up to pay cash.

Apparently the police occupied one of the rooms next door to them today (it was put Out of Order under the reason "Meg's* friend"), and executed a search warrant.

As my title indicates, they were involuntarily vacated from our property, and relocated to less accommodating accommodations.

So, because of the nature of the departure, their room is filled with expensive property. So I left a note for Housekeeping (per the Officer's instructions) that a member of management should accompany them to ensure accusations of theft are able to be dealt with promptly.
