I developed a taste for grits when I was living in New Mexico of all places. There was a small cafe in my dad's town (long since closed) that had an amazing Sunday brunch buffet with...green chile grits. Holy cats those things were gooood. I was born in VA, so dad's not too surprised about my love for grits. I have yet to see if mom will allow them in the house though.
