Does your cart-pusher have a horn on it?
They do. And I've used it on a few occasions, mostly to get drivers to move out of the way. But no one takes it seriously. The pusher is always at one end and I'm at the front guiding the row of carts, so unless the person is standing beside it they won't connect their stupidity with what I'm doing.

A few times I've deliberately blow the horn (minds out of the gutter) as an alternative to losing my job by cussing at some of the stupider ones I've encountered, but I always counter it with an apology and act like it was an accident.

The horn has a proxdimity detector and you(r car) was too close.

So you have this woman who is stick thin. I'd be surprised if she's more than two hundred pounds.
Unless a woman is close to 7 feet tall, I can't imagine her being 200 lbs and being stick thin.

I'm surprised you don't have people driving and speed up, trying to beat your cart pusher if start pushing across the lot to the store.

It's why I said "I would be surprised if she was over 200 pounds".

I'm saying I was just making a wild guess about what her weight might or might not have been.

I get shocked looks when I approach the edge of a road to cross and realise I can't get across clearly and *stand back* away from the edge of the road to make sure people know I'm not going to cross before they pass me.
I make a point of turning away from the street when I'm not going to cross before the car passes. Otherwise, it's the whole "who's going to go first" game, and I'd rather let the multi-ton rolling death machine go first.

Oh my God, I've often wondered if I was the only one who got irritated at people who try to be nice to me rather than follow the rules of the road! Nice to know I'm not as weird as I thought I was!
My drivers ed teacher (who was really cool) made a point of telling us that we should never be concerned about "being nice" and letting someone else have our right of way, because while we were being nice to that one person, we were being rude to anyone and everyone that was stuck behind us.

However, I have been known to stop for people crossing at a cross walk because, technically, I could be ticketed for not doing so, even if they' haven't left the curb, yet. But I won't do that if there's a lot of traffic coming, because it's just not safe.

There's such a thing as cart pushers? As in machines not people? (that people operate, of course I don't think they collect and shift the trolleys themselves!)..
Yeah, they look something like this.

You don't have to be behind it to operate it; it has a remote control or something.

The flagship store of the clearance swamp has, or at least had, one of those things. But then again that store is huge and attached to a regional shopping mall, so "getting carts" could mean an hour or more going around the entire mall rounding up carts that may have been left anywhere and everywhere.
