BOY there are a couple of good ones
A prime example of SC time
During the past 6 months or so we have run a couple of after 10 specials to drive our late night business up. Nothing sucky about that.
3 times this week, however, we have had people call in (say around 7:30pm or 8pm) to try and get the AFTER 10 specials. NOT for orders in the future (after 10pm) but they wanted the special NOW.
BIG LIGHTED SIGN = Suspicious
Now my town is not exactly a big city with 5 crimes being committed on every corner on the hour, but we do have crime. and we do have certain areas that are either watched by the Police or a Neighborhood Watch type of thing.
Other driver gets a delivery to a known cranky customer. He either can not decide what door he wants us to deliver to or just does not hear when we ring the doorbell or knock. His record is labeled with "Call When You Get There".
But the customer is not the main character in this story. Other driver pulls up to the customes house and parks. As he is dialing his cellphone someone literally BANGS on his window.
Now driver is in his OWN car with A BIG LIGHTED SIGN ON THE ROOF ADVERTISING THE FACT THAT HE WORKS FOR <my pizza place>. driver rolls down the window and the person says the following:
"HEY I am the neighborhood watch captain and you need to move along. The cops are watching the area and you are being very suspicious sitting here like that."
Driver tries to explain the situation to the man but he will just not listen. Driver again tries to explain the stiuation and the man is downright adiment that driver "move along" and then threatens to call the cops if driver will not move.
I though that the Neighborhood Watch was supposed to alert the cops NOT driectly confront a potential criminal.
Put it on the table and NOT enough FOOD DAMNIT
the GM takes an order for one of our current specials which consists of 2 med pizza and 2 sides. When explaining this special we explictily explain to the customer that YES it is 2 MEDIUM pizzas and 2 SIDES. GM takes the order and all is well ((HHAHAHAHAHA yeah right)
Other driver takes the delivery. when the customer (who is very overweight and yes this is a bit important to the story) answers the door. customer pays for the order and then ORDERS the driver to go inside the house and place the order on the table. Now there are at least 4 other people inside the house just sitting around.
Not happening. the driver explains to the customer that they are not allowed to enter a residence for security, liablity, and safety reasons.
The customer becomes quite aggitated at this. and exclaimes "WELLL I had to walk ALLLLLL the way over to the door to answer it, SO get in here and put my order on the table.
Nope NOT happending. driver again explains why he is unable to do this.
Customer finally takes the order and closes the door.
Think this is over????? not yet
Customer then proceeds to call the store (not for the reason you night think). Gm takes the call. NOW the customer is claiming that there IS NOT ENOUGH FOOD IN THE BOX SPECIAL. they thought the pizzas were LARGES and they got smallsa and now there is not enough food to feed the masses.
GM explains that the special is 2 MEDIUM pizzas. They go back and forth and the GM (in accordance with compamy policy) give them another medium pizza FOR FREE.
I definately want what ever you are on.
customer calls up and wants an order delivered.
phone person first asks for the phone number.
"I don't know UMMMMMMMM"
<tries very hard to remember phone number.>
finally he goes outside and upstairs to the upstairs apt and consults with GF about the phone number.
OK go the phone number. NOW we need the address
repeat the above routine
just getting the phone number and adddress takes 5 - 7 MINUTES.
Everything is in ONE box
This is not really sucky but more of ..... Well you'll see in a minute.
The special mentioned above come in a HUGE box so that all of the products are IN THAT ONE BOX. we have a LOT of people complain at the door "WELLLL where is <side> or <other side>. well it is all in ONE box
How long did you wait????
around 10:45pm I take an order for one pizza. I also get to delivery it. I get dispatched at 11pm and arrive at the customers house at about 11:10pm. customer answers the door, we exchange for the pizza, and all is well (YEAH right)
I get back to the store and continue with my closing stuff. around 11:40pm (NOTE the time). the phone rings and I answer it.
It is the customer I delivered to 30 minutes prior. He has a complaint. He claims the pizza is cold , soggy , greasy and totaly unedible. It was SOOOOO bad (accroding to him)( that he could not even eat one slice. He starts to go on and on about how bad it is. SO one FREE remake pizza for him.
NOW if you let a newly delivered pizza sit around unprotected in a very thin cardboard box YES it will get cold you blithering IDIOT.
