Working at a video game store, I get to see a lot of kids, even if a decent chunk of the market is geared towards adults now. There are a lot of crazies, and ones that make me not want kids, but then we have incidents like this, and I'm just, ah. Thank you. Clearly there are some people in the world out there who are raising children correctly.
Cool.
Had a kid around 12-14 come in, was very polite, wanted to know if he could get a game, and was looking to preorder something. He stuck out as a customer though because every third statement we said was followed up by him nodding very seriously and responding with "Cool." or "Very cool".
TIP!
Had a mom and a young son (5-6) come in to buy a backup Xbox. Little kid is very anxious the whole first few minutes,
Kid: "Mom? Is it time for us to pay yet?"
Mom: "pfftt. Us? I'm pretty sure I'm the only one buying this!"
anyway, kid gets distracted by our tv, mom pays, leaves. They make it all the way to the door when the kid realizes that they had to have paid to be walking out with a system, sprints back over and in the most bright cheerful tone a kid can realize, chirps "TIP!" and clinks a quarter onto the counter before chasing after his mom.
Since we can't take tips I just gave the next customer a 25 cent discount (they were also nice, and found the story charming)
