So, we've previously been with Purina pet insurance. And it sucked. They barely covered anything, had extremely rude cs reps, and as an added bonus, decided to mark an accidental injury to Vincent as "preexisting condition".
Um, the goshdarn cat suddenly shattered a tooth one week. THATS NOT PREEXISTING. That's a squirrel that had a rock in its craw. Or something.
Anyways, so they've been horrible, and I was looking to switch companies because of just how stressful it's been. There was a small thread about pet ins. on Reddit a couple weeks back, and someone raved about 247 Petwatch. Said they'd bailed her out on a really big operation that her pet had to have, and how they were super nice.
Unfortunately, the cost seemed a bit out of our reach, so I had to continue with our current company for now. Or so I thought.
Out of the blue, I got a notice two days later, that Purina ins was being bought out.
By 247 PetWatch.
......YAY
And then a boo. Vincent got sick, right during the five days "transferring to new owners" time. I didn't know who to file with. Purina's reps, when I called them to find out the details, were incredibly rude and witchy about the buyout. One lady said "Don't ask me, you're just wasting your breath here, go call them. They're the ones who own it all now."
247 Petwatch tried to help me out, but admitted that Purina was giving them a hard time, and hadn't transferred everything over. Ok, I can wait.
Aaaaand, nope. I can't. Purina sent me a letter that they were canceling both of the policies for nonpayment. Um, I have a credit card on file. The Purina reps refused to help me out, and find out why they canceled it. "Its out of our hands, your card obviously was out of funds." No, no it isn't. "Well, we can't help you."

Well, I just got off the phone with PetWatch. Not only did they retrieve the policies, but they confirmed that yes, the payment option I had listed was valid. And they went on ahead and processed the payment for me. Didn't make me refile for a policy or anything. "We trust you, we know how things can get, and this transfer has been a bit confusing for everyone." They even encouraged me to file with the old Purina paperwork, to avoid any possible issues with waiting too long for the new claim forms.
Seriously. Awesome. People. Just thrilled to pieces at this, and I hope it stays this awesome.
