Okay, we all know them: the State Highway Patrol.
Well, tonight, in the midst of the insanity of Race Weekend, I blew a flat post-delivery. I discovered my spare was flat, and had to enlist a fellow driver's help to get it refilled.
I show up at my car and get to work changing the tire, flashing the oncoming traffic with my 2-cell Mag-Light "anti-aircraft" flashlight while I do so, and up pulls Trooper Julie Campbell of the TN State Highway Patrol. She had actually circled around to see if I would come back and asked if I needed assistance. When it was apparent I did, she radioed in to her Sergeant, whose name I have unfortunately forgotten, and asked for his help.
When her Sergeant arrives, he's a BIIIIIG and STRONG guy who breaks loose the lug nuts, then hunts up chocks in his car!!
Long story of AWESOME later, I pull away and make it Home thanks to the two nicest, most helpful Troopers I'll ever meet.
