  • Best Buy went above and beyond.

I decided I was going to get a GPS with my Christmas money, so I went to BB and also use the gift card I got.

So I find the one I wanted - Garmin Nuvi 50 LM. The tag said it was on sale for $119. So we go up to the checkout, and find out it was no longer on sale. Oh, well, I was still planning on getting it anyway even if it was $149.

Well, the person checking me out was able to match that price, even though it was no longer on sale. I was shocked, and happy. I thanked him for doing that. He sure as heck didn't need to do that.

So thank you for matching the tag even though it was no longer on sale.

I had a good experience at BB myself this afternoon...I wanted to get The World's End on Blu-Ray for their $12.99 price, but they were all out of copies. A clerk went back to see if they had any more, and came back with the "Cornetto Trilogy" triple pack that also included Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz, and offered to sell it to me for the same price! That was extremely generous of him, and now I get to save a little shelf space and make a few bucks back by unloaded my copies of Shaun and Fuzz.

I can't say that BB has a problem with matching sales prices.

I was looking for a kit to adapt my 2005 OEM car stereo for use with my iPod. They had one in stock, but it was more than I was wanting to spend. The salesperson checked online, found one that was cheaper on Amazon, but because he couldn't match the steeply discounted price he got it as far down as he could then fudged it to throw in free installation.

Too bad I found out when they tried to install it that it wasn't compatible with my particular radio.
