My car...I am just disgusted with my car right now.
A few weeks ago, the clutch went out whilst on my paper route. My mechanic is across town. The tow driver let me pay up-front and he said he'd drop off the keys for me! Sweet! That saved me a cab ride, since I broke down less than a mile from home.
This morning, I needed my car towed again from the bank parking lot where I pick up my paper route. Hubs came before the tow truck, and I moved my papers into his car to finish the route. I left him my credit card and told him to call me if they needed me to sign for it and I'd be right down. About halfway through my route I realized bhskittykatt you idiot, you broke down right in front of a f**king atm; you could have gotten him cash! So I called Hubs, and not only was the mechanic cool with running my card, he even gave Hubs a lift home! It was just one less thing I had to deal with! (Husband getting home is a thing to "deal with".)
Though he was a bit weirded out, since I called him, and Hubs was the one there with the car when the driver arrived. Hubs said he was like, "You sounded a bit...different on the phone."
And my mechanic is awesome, too, because he lets me make payments. Which, I've run up quite a tab lately. (The clutch was $800, and today it's the suspension which is almost another $800. I also spent $600 recently between the coolant system and the door latch. If I had another vehicle handy, I would so just send this POS to the crusher!) Normally he does 1/3 down and you have 90 days to pay same as cash, but since he loves us so much he lets me take a bit longer if I need to (which I think I may need to).
