So I was traveling to *Big regional event* where naturally all the hotels in a 2 hour radius are sold out. COmpany has booked the room through cheapline booking site only 2 weeks in advance and apparently got a great deal....
I get to the hotel about 9:30pm and surprise no room, not in my name, company name, managers name, etc. Called manager, they called cheapline who called the hotel. Apparently cheapline kept booking rooms after the hotel told them they were full. Hotel clerk spent almost half an hour on the phone with cheapline to get all the details and then got one of the extra maintenance hold rooms that had just come off being refurbed and got me in. Had to pay the actual *big regional event* rate but thats the company's problem now.
Clerk was the most friendly and fought the cheapline rep to get everything sorted out when he could have just as easily walked me.
