I was ringing out an elderly woman the other day, and we got to chatting. She mentioned that their car had died a week or so ago and she was taking the bus.
I eyed the pile of groceries she was buying. Unless she had an octopus waiting for her outside, there was NO was she could get all that on the bus. I asked if she wanted a cab instead. She said she thought she'd probably have to call one.
Then the lady behind her spoke up.
"If you can wait for me to finish, I'll give you a lift home."
Turns out the second customer had been the one of the teachers of the first customer's son.
