I can't believe how nice this family is. I checked them into the hotel last night for 2 nights. They had a King Suite (so a King bed and a pullout sofa for the teenage daughter, who was also very polite and nice, like the parents).
At check in, they made some small talk, they were very surprised that our hotel was 10 years old. They commented on how clean it was and how well kept it was for a 10 year old property. They then went to the room. It was late when they checked in (after 11pm I believe) and they must have been ready to go to sleep. I got a call from them 10 minutes after they checked in, housekeeping didn't leave any sheets for the pullout, and there was also no blanket. I apologized and told them I will be up as soon as I can get away from the desk. It was the daughter on the phone and she said that she can just come down to get it, there was no need for me to make the trip since I am busy. I thought that was nice of her. But I tried to get the items to them, although I couldn't make it since we were a little busy, so she ended up coming down for the items.
Today, we had a problem. Our new housekeeper threw away a bag of cloths from the room of the guests above. I guess she thought it was garbage, I will have to let her know about this tomorrow. The guests were still, very nice about this, and even went as far as to blame themselves for it. They said that they shouldn't have put the cloths in a bag on the floor (dirty cloths that they didn't want to just toss in the suitcase). I felt really bad, so I told them I will do my best to find out what happened. The wife said "Don't worry about it. It was our fault, we just thought we'd ask to see if you still had the cloths".
I went out to the dumpster, found the large garbage bag the housekeeper used for trash, and found the smaller trash bag with some shorts, a shirt, and some socks in it. I got the items, placed them in a laundry bag, and returned them to the customer. The husband was very happy, and shook my hand while the wife got out $5 to give me as a tip, I refused it (Can't take money for something that was our fault).
I just can't believe how pleasant they were during this, it was unreal in all honesty.
Nice to have some non-SC guests on this busy weekend.
