Amazing Waitress!

So my best friend from high school and I met up for some lunch today at our local Applebees. We're rarely in the same city anymore (her doing her Master's in Chicago and me living in DC, we're both from Ohio originally) so when we are in the same place, we always make time for each other. So we're hanging at at Applebee's for about 2-2 1/2 hours chatting and eating and catching up since we haven't seen each other in a couple months.

Anyways our conversation gets a little emotional and I start to cry a little. A few minutes after I calmed down, our waitress comes by (she had already given us our check at that point) and drops off a chocolate mousse dessert and said it was on her, stating at we looked sad and she didn't want us to be sad!

Needless to say, she got a great tip! And the chocolate mousse definitely cheered us up!

This didn't happen to me but I witnessed it.

I was at a Dairy Queen and while waiting for my order, the previous customer tipped over her huge ice cream/milkshake/float thingy & it spilled all over the floor. She hadn't even had a sip of it yet. She apologized for the mess and asked for a rag. The wonderful manager at the counter pooh-poohed that, told one of the staff to make another drink for the customer & then went out with a mop to clean the mess (which would have had to be done anyway, admittedly, a few cloths just weren't up to that mess). She made a customer & her daughter very happy & impressed the heck out of me.
