Back when I used to work at "The Pit of Hell", there was this sweet old lady
who came through my line about once a week. She was always VERY polite, asked me how I was doing, actually paid attention to the answer, would tell us to rest if we looked tired, always very very polite.
Every time, she would try to buy me a cup of coffee. Always spent 2 or 3 mins trying to talk me into it (we were not allowed to drink anything at the registers). One time, when I yet again said no, I just had to tell her that she always brightened my day. She blushed, smiled, and replied with "I keep trying to offer it to you nice girls. One of these days, you girls will have to say yes."
Makes me smile even now.
I do believe in karma, and I hope she is having a wonderful life, with lots of grandkids to take care of her and visit her. Sorry for the sappyness... Guess I'm getting a lil soft around the edges.
