I'm on chemo now and they're allowing me to work part time without any problems, including missing days due to the side effects. I was expecting them to find a reason to can me instead..

It is so good that your management is standing behind you. It probably helps a lot to know you aren't going to get fired. Good luck with your chemo. My mom is in her second round of chemo for breast cancer right now, so we know what you are going through. Fortunately, with all of the pre-medication they give, she has had no side effects. She just gets really tired.
