As you probably figured by the name, I'm a waitress and I work at a dessert place. Now just to give you some background, my bosses are more the type to point out what you're doing wrong than applaud you for doing something right. They always ALWAYS side with the customers, and have made me stay far later than I had to because someone came in with a party of 15 , 5 stinking minutes before closing and "just wanted some coffee"
So one of my tables last night was an older couple, and who I'm assuming was their grown daughter. The ordered a waffle with icecream and all split it, pretty nice simple table. They also pointed at my manger (standing watching me as usual) and said something like: "Oh I see your manager's just standing around while you guys do all the work at then he collects all the money".
That made me giggle, and wish to say "HELL YES" but I said something like: "Oh well he's always doing things around here" because I wasn't sure if my boss could hear me.
When I was getting some forks/spoons for another table, after they had paid, I see them come up to my manager who was right near me (He follows us ALL around like a hawk, not always me).
They told him it was their first time there, that they had had a great time, and that their waitress was wonderfull. He asked who and they pointed at me and said "Her, she was great, she deserves a raise".
That just MADE my night, and I probably looking like this
smiling at them as they left and saying thank you several dozen times. It just made me so happy to see that there are good customers like that out there who will compliment you! So to that nice family, thank you and
