  • So where do you get the best customer service?

Which stores/restaurants in your area give you the best customer service?

    For me, it's:

    1. My bank. The tellers know me by sight, are always friendly, efficient, and ask nicely about my day. I love banking with them.

    2. Trader Joe's. I love the food, so I'd shop there no matter what, but their customer service has been great. The cashiers are friendly, cheerful, knowledgable about their products, and always ready with a recommendation.

    3. The Olde Ship. it's a "British" pub about 10 minutes away from my house, and it's great. Food--excellent. Atmosphere--unique and fun. Servers--fun, a little flirty at times, always ready with a recommendation, and prompt.

Jessops (but only during the week), always know exactly what they have in stock for camera goodness! (Their Weekend part timers however don't know their arse from their f numbers)

HMV, I know a fair few by sight (and name) and they know my musical taste as well so all's good there!

Waterstones, Very helpful, polite staff, they know more about books then I thought imaginable.
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

The best service I've received in recent memory is:

      1. At a computer software company called Jungle Software. They make a film budgeting/scheduling program. Every time I call and the couple of times I've stopped at their office, they give exceptional service. I've talked to a couple of the staff and developers and they are so mellow, informative, very helpful and have answered just about all of the questions I've thrown their way. I can't remember not being satisfied w/their service.

Most places I'm a regular at and a couple of places I'm not I've had great service.

I can't even begin to count the amount of times I've had bad service though.

Subway @ Wal-Mart next to the store where I work. I go in there fairly often for lunch/dinner on days when I work, and the people there all know me and say hi, ask how the day's going, and sometimes will let me go by with an employee discount (only a few cents) despite not working at WM.

Cici's Pizza. On days I have class, more often than not, I go to Cici's for dinner before class. The managers there (who are generally the ones manning the register when I walk in) know me and the GM there sometimes will just say, "Go ahead, man, it's on me," and refuse payment. Also they'll sometimes double-punch my Frequent Customer card (buy six buffets, seventh is free) too.

Kroger's at 5 AM. There are very few employees around to bother me and I think they've all been trained to avoid customer contact because none of them greet me when I walk down the aisle they're stocking. I don't have to talk to anyone about the weather or the prices of gas or anything. I can just get my food and leave. It's awesome and exactly the type of "customer service" I want.

            1. My bank! Everyone there knows me even though I only come in to deposit my paycheck. They're always friendly. I just love 'em.

            2. Casa Ole. A tex mex place out here in Texas. There's this one waiter I always get (at least during slow hours) and he's awesome. Knows my usual but asks me if I'm changing it because I do that sometimes. Food is excellent, he's delivers great service and is timely and fun to talk to.

Ok retail...um....I can't think of any store that I love going to. The only stores I love going to is one with SCO so I can be in and out in 5 minutes or less. We have crappy Customer Service out here in most retail. Although some of the ma and pa stores are pretty awesome but my consumer driven brain never thinks of them when I shop...

Aaron's of my town. The head dude there knows me by name, gives me extra time to pay my bill (which helps because I am a single mother) and only gave me a late charge ONCE when I was two weeks late paying, haha.

I was $16 short today when I went to make my payment (two days late) and he said it was fine, and he'd just tack it onto next month's.

I've never felt so valued as I do there. Plus, the 60'' television I got there was reasonably priced so I never had to return it due to inability to pay.

I do love my TV. It's the one thing I own that works the way it should. That's why I don't get rid of it.
