  • Very patient guests indeed

After ringing up nearly 300 dollars worth of groceries and helping to load several bags into an overflowing cart, I went to void something out. There's a small button that voids out a selected item. There's a small button that voids out the entire transaction. Both are placed riiiight next to each other. Guess which one I accidently jabbed? Try to imagine the feeling of utter horror in the pit of my stomache when I realized that I would have to tell these people I needed to ring everything up again. I was SO grateful that they were patient about it and were even saying things like "Now she's going to have to ring all this up again, the poor dear." and to the next customer in line, "We had to ring it up again, the computer cancelled out on her." I know a lot of people would have flipped the f__k out, but I was very relieved that they didn't and let them know so. They really need to have the computer ask "are you SURE you want to void the entire transaction?" when you press it. All the other cashiers have made the same mistake.

We had the same problem on our old keyboards at <The Chemists until they introduced touch screen, then the option of one v. all were at diagonal opposites.

At least someone thought about that!
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.
